So you know you need a website but you're a little lost as to what people normally include.

  1. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself a few questions:
  2. What is the goal of my website?
  3. Who will be my audience?
  4. Should they be able to contact me from my website?
  5. What is my product or service?
  6. What do I want to “look like” as a business/brand?
  7. How can social media help me with my online presence?
  8. What other things can the internet help me accomplish in my business?

What’s the deal with mobile websites and how do you know if yours is set up to work on people’s cell phones, etc.?

There are two main ways I can help you with that. One is to make sure it looks alright and is workable on most devices, and the other is to make alternate versions of your site.

The first thing to know -and the most important is that iPhones do not support flash. HAVING A FLASH WEBSITE IS THE SINGLE WORST THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS BESIDES NOT HAVING A WEBSITE.
So, how do you know if you’re set up with the best possible solution? First of all make sure your site is not using flash. Next, check your website on other people’s computers, cell phones and even if you don’t own an iPad, you can check how your website looks on one by typing in your web address at: iPadpeek.com .
If you still have questions, I’d be more than happy to answer them as we’ll as perform a diagnostics on your online marketing health. Send an email to :

For starters, your business website should have at the minimum the following 3 basic sections:

  1. Info About you or your company
  2. What Product or Service you offer
  3. Contact information

Other things you might want to include:

  • An image gallery
  • An online store
  • A contact form
  • Links to your social networking profiles
  • Testimonials
  • A blog
  • Pricing information
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Resources pertaining to your product or service

Widgets are small applications that add interactivity for the viewer in a website. Some examples are:

  • Tag Clouds
  • Category listings
  • Latest Blog Posts
  • Latest Twitter Feed

Normally a widget is placed in a sidebar, but you can use them anywhere. It’s nice to have custom sidebars and widgets for different pages.  For example : on the contact page, have related links in the sidebar, and a twitter feed, or facebook feed.
